How the practice environment works
Choose your trade
Start with a trade profile to understand the work, entry pathways and examination. Ontario reference codes are labelled as Ontario codes, not national trade identifiers. A practice package is C$89 for lifetime access to one selected trade.
Try the free sample
A 30-question sample requires no purchase. Choose an answer and select “Check answer” to see the explanation. Once checked, that answer is locked for the attempt. Submit when finished to see your topic results.
Use study mode
Choose all topics or focus on one. There is no time limit. Answers are saved as you choose them. Check your answer before moving on if you want immediate feedback, or submit the whole session for a complete review.
Use timed mode
Choose Form A or Form B. The two forms contain different question families. Your selected form and saved question order stay with the attempt when you resume it. Complete the published number of questions for your trade (100–150 in this catalogue) within four hours. Explanations are withheld until submission. You can change answers and flag questions until you submit or time expires. The clock continues if you close the page; reopening an expired attempt grades the saved answers.
Choose another study format
Quick quizzes contain 10 or 25 items. Case workshops focus on diagnostic, verification and response decisions. Calculation practice accepts a numerical answer and shows the worked method after checking. Recall cards hide the solution until you reveal it and then record your own rating; this is not an assessed exam score.
Practise your mistakes
Mistake review draws from incorrect or unanswered items in your last 50 completed, graded sessions for the same trade. Your latest result for each item determines whether it remains in the list. Recall-card ratings do not populate this list. Filters can select a topic or shorter session, where available.
Use the learning workspace
Read lessons, work through the casebook, save notes and mark lessons complete. Graded sessions completed in this edition feed your topic dashboard and review schedule. Missed items are due immediately; consecutive correct results schedule review after 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days. Recall self-ratings do not change this schedule. Repeating the same items can increase familiarity, so first-attempt accuracy is shown separately.
Set an exam date and daily study time to create a plan. Calendar downloads contain all-day study entries, not email reminders. The offline workbook is an HTML file containing the learning content, your choice of Form A or Form B and answer explanations; it opens in a browser without a connection and can be printed or saved as PDF. Offline work does not sync back into your account.
Save and resume
Responses are stored on the server. Signed-in users can access their attempts through My study record. Anonymous samples can be resumed from this browser using its locally saved access token; clearing browser data removes that access.
Review your results
Results show the total score, topic breakdown, your choices and explanations. Filter to incorrect or flagged questions, and print the result page if useful. An unanswered question counts as incorrect.
